Publisher Code of Conduct

mrge is committed to maintaining high standards of quality, transparency, and compliance across our publisher supply. As a publisher, you are required to adhere to this Publisher Code of Conduct, which sets clear expectations for ethical and compliant business practices.

Violations of this code may result in:
  • Warnings and compliance requests.
  • Temporary or permanent suspension from mrge and our entities.
  • Commission adjustments or withholdings for non-compliant activity.

This policy applies to all mrge network partners, including but not limited to Yieldkit, shopping24, digidip, MaxBounty, and SourceKnowledge.

1. Compliance & Responsibility
Publishers working with mrge and its entities agree to:
  • Follow all applicable laws and industry standards in online advertising and affiliate marketing as well as IAB standards.
  • Adhere to Advertiser Program-Specific Terms and regional compliance regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Ensure subpublisher compliance – You are responsible for any subpublishers operating under your network.
  • Provide full transparency to mrge on traffic sources, audience engagement, and tracking mechanisms.

2. Prohibited Activities & Non-Compliance
2.1 Fraudulent Activities & Tracking Manipulation
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
  • Cookie Stuffing – Activating tracking without user intent.
  • Traffic Hijacking – Redirecting users without prior engagement.
  • Transaction Fraud – Generating fake or unauthorized transactions.
  • Basket Hijacking – Activating tracking after checkout has started.
  • Peripheral Device Tracking – Activating tracking without user interaction (e.g., clicking, typing, scrolling).

2.2 Content Violations
  • Publishing obscene, violent, defamatory, or discriminatory content.
  • Promoting illegal, libelous, or unlicensed content.
  • Hosting file-sharing services that enable anonymous downloads.

2.3 Misleading & Non-Transparent Traffic Sources
  • Concealing referral URLs or disguising traffic origins.
  • Engaging in deceptive pop-ups, pop-unders, or typo-squatting.
  • Providing false business information or account details.

2.4 Brand Violations & PPC Compliance
  • Brand Bidding – Using advertiser brand names without authorization in PPC campaigns.
  • Ad Hijacking – Copying or misrepresenting advertiser-branded ads.
  • Promoting expired, invalid, or unauthorized coupons.

2.5 Unauthorized Activity
  • Using subpublishers without transparency or mrge approval (where required).
  • Allowing banned or blacklisted publishers.

3. Publisher Communication & Responsiveness
Publishers must:
  • Communicate honestly and transparently with mrge.
  • Respond to compliance requests within 48 hours.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in compliance actions.

4. Enforcement & Sanctions
4.1 mrge reserves the right to take immediate corrective actions for violations, including:
     1. Traffic Recategorization – Adjusting tracking priority (e.g., applying soft-click status).
     2. Suspension from Advertiser Programs – Temporary or permanent account suspension.
     3. Termination – Removal from mrge and all associated entities.
     4. Commission Adjustments – Withholding or reducing payments linked to fraudulent or non-compliant activity.

4.2 Sanctions will be based on:
  • The severity of the violation.
  • Whether it was an intentional or repeat offense.
  • The impact on advertisers, users, and mrge’s reputation.
